New Years Inspiration: 3rd gear

We are coming to the end of January, the first month of 2017 and I hope it has been going well for you!  It’s at this time that you can become a little discouraged with your resolutions and goals, but keep going! Here’s some encouraging words for you.

I’ve been having a great time, however I’ve also had a cold for three weeks and am now on anti biotics, which can make you feel rubbish. I am determined to focus on being positive and happy, although I feel like I’ve spent most of the month so far stuck in third gear.

Do you ever feel like that? Frustrated because you know that you want to do more but your circumstances, health of situations aren’t quite lining up to allow you to do it? Me too, but athought came to me yesterday that inspired me and I hope that it can help you too:

A car in third gear can still move forward!

So yes you might want to go to the gym and are sick so you need to rest; but you can still stretch and make sure your nutrition is good. Or you want more work opportunities and they aren’t quite appearing yet, no problem, you can focus on your own personal development and see what new things you can learn. Your relationship is going through difficulties? That’s ok, remain calm, loving and inspired and know that they will pass; it’s a chance to grow together.

Looking at things in this way has really helped me to keep perspective and to remember that any progress, no matter how small it seems, is still progress.

Even if you’re in first gear, you can get down a hill with a push!

Best wishes,

Michael
